G/T
Program
Stanton I.S.D. recognizes there
is a segment of the student population within our society that consistently
excels, or shows potential to excel, in one or more of the following areas:
general intellectual ability, specific academic aptitude, performing arts,
and psychomotor ability. Through the Gifted/Talented (G/T) Program
the district is committed to providing educational experiences beyond the
regular curriculum to meet the individual needs of students with general
intellectual ability.
The goals and objectives of the G/T program will focus on general intellectual abilities and divergent thinking processes and will allow for independent study and in-depth research on the part of the student. Emphasis and opportunities will vary with the achievement levels, previous experiences and interests of the students.
Students may be nominated by anyone.
The referral deadline is April 1.
