Friday is a regular school day - UIL participants will be travelling to Crane, but all others students will have a regular school day with a 3:00 dismissal.
Mrs. Shafer will be hosting an informational and showcase session for GT on January 11th. If you are currently a parent of a student who receives GT services or are interested in seeing if your child would qualify, see the attached information.
Parents, here is a reminder about dress code for Stanton Elementary. We are seeing lots of leggings and hair color issues, and are asking for you help as we get through this weather changing. The full dress code can be found in the handbook posted online.

Be on the lookout for a permission slip coming home regarding the Being Safe Program being offered to PK-5th graders. In compliance with Texas Law, we must offer this (SISD School Board approved) presentation to all students with parent permission. Understand that your child will receive an alternative activity if this parental consent form is not returned.

Wednesday, we will be hosting our second lunch and learn for parents. This session will focus on executive function - time on task, memory, sharing, task initiation, organization, etc. We will meet from 11:30-12:00 with desert and drinks provided. Does your child struggle with focusing, sharing, taking turns, getting started on their work, organization? These skills all fall under executive functioning skills which impact learning and behavior. Join us for a 30 minute presentation on how to help your child improve these areas while having fun as a family. Bring your lunch - desert and drinks will be provided. Door prizes will be given so you can implement strategies learned. November 15th, 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Students will not be in attendance)

Tuesday is National Color the World Orange Day - wear orange to school on Tuesday!
Next week on Tuesday, October 31st, we will have our Mad Scientist Day. Students will rotate among the classes in their grade level and complete science experiments during the day. We will use this day to work on scientific processes and following directions. Students may dress in science lab coats, goggles, etc., but no Halloween costumes will be allowed in the interest of science safety. This was a very fun day last year and we want to continue this tradition.
We will host our Veteran's Day Program Monday, November 13th where our PK-2nd grade students will perform. If you would like to honor a friend or family member for their service, please complete and return this form no later than Friday, November 8th.

Stanton Elementary and Middle School will be hosting a Popcorn with the Principals Title 1 meeting immediately following the middle school pep rally on Thursday October 19, 2023. Please join us to learn about how this important program is used to help our students. Doors will open to the gym at 12:45, pep rally from 12:55-1:15, Popcorn with Principals from 1:15-1:30.
