Our annual book fair begins Monday, January 22. We will have family night on Tuesday for you to shop with your student. We will also have work displayed in the hall as an "open house" event for you to walk through and visit with your student about their work. As a fundraiser, students who attend family night will have the opportunity to pie Mrs. Miller or Mrs. Collier in the face for $3 or 2 for $5. All money raised will be used to buy books for our teachers from their wish list. Family night will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. starting in the gym. Please enter through the back doors closest to the gym - we will have some signs out. If you are unable to attend with your child, please stop by between 8:30 - 3:00 Wednesday or Thursday.

We are planning for an inside dismissal today due to the freezing temperature! This takes a bit longer, so please make sure you have your placard easily displayed and we will get your student to you as quickly as we can. PK-2, please stop at the doors, and do not pull all the way up. We will have cones set up.

Stanton ISD will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will see you Tuesday!

Attached is our January newsletter with lunch menu and upcoming events and activities. Please make sure you look at this and are aware of the things that you will want to be apart of.

Tomorrow, Wednesday will be our class Christmas parties. All visitors must enter and leave through the main office. We appreciate those who preregistered and will turn that form off today at 4:00 p.m.. Thursday will be a regular school day with a 12:45 dismissal. We will return to school on Tuesday, January 9th at regular time.

In an effort of continuous safety for our students, we are going to be strictly enforcing our car placard system for next semester. Over the next week, those students who are car riders will begin to receive new placards. The previous ones you have will no longer be valid starting in January. Each child will receive two - if those are lost, you will need to come to the office with an ID and request a new one. Any vehicle that does not have a placard will have to pull around to the front office, show ID and collect their student. If you send another person to pick up your child, they must have the placard. We know that this might be difficult in the beginning, but we will continue to strive to ensure all students at Stanton Elementary are safe during the day and immediately after. If you child typically rides the bus, you may come to the office to request a placard in the event it is needed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Miller at 432-607-3700 or mmiller@stanton.esc18.net
Again, thanks for your support.

Due to anticipated wet and very cold weather Thursday, we have made the decision to cancel our Jingle Jog. We will record our 3/4 students singing and post that on Friday along with our 5th grade STEM projects. In the spring, we will do a family PE day where you will be able to join your student for a workout. Health and safety are important to us, so we do not want any of our families catching anything but a good rain shower!

Teachers will be sending out information for our parties on December 20th, but you may begin to preregister here. Each person attending must complete form and bring ID with them or be prepared to show id and register that day.

Parents, here is a reminder about dress code for Stanton Elementary. We are seeing lots of leggings and hair color issues, and are asking for you help as we get through this weather changing. The full dress code can be found in the handbook posted online.

Be on the lookout for a permission slip coming home regarding the Being Safe Program being offered to PK-5th graders. In compliance with Texas Law, we must offer this (SISD School Board approved) presentation to all students with parent permission. Understand that your child will receive an alternative activity if this parental consent form is not returned.
