Permian Basin AHEC provides services to twenty-seven counties in the Permian Basin through education and development of the healthcare workforce. They have partnered with SHS Health Science classes and visited the campus yesterday, presenting on several topics. Our students learned about career opportunities in healthcare from Permian Basin AHEC, and received information on various health-related topics. The program strives to motivate young people in rural and underserved areas to choose a career in the healthcare field. West Texas area. Permian Basin AHEC has provided our SHS Health Science Sim Lab with a manikin, hospital bed, and EKG machine. They will continue working with our health science teacher, Mrs. Mahan, RN, to ensure that our health science students have multiple opportunities to learn more about healthcare through hands-on summer camps, a junior scholars program that includes job shadowing, and other enriching experiences. Monday, February 16, 2026, will be a student holiday. This day will be reserved for parent–teacher conferences. If you would like to schedule a conference, please contact the teacher(s) via email or leave a message with the campus secretary.
Stanton ISD will have a 10am start, tomorrow Wednesday, January 27th. Buses will run. We will continue to monitor the road conditions and update you changes arise.
Stanton ISD weather update: Due to the below freezing temperatures and road conditions we will not have school tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27th. As of right now we are planning a regular 7:35 start for Wednesday, we will update you if anything changes.

This will be Varsity Teams only with Varsity Girls beginning at 4pm and Varsity Boys to follow at 5:30. We will be monitoring the weather and road conditions, if conditions are not safe for travel the games will be resheculed.

The basketball games vs Odessa Compass tomorrow have been changed to varsity only. The varsity girls game will start at 4:00pm with the varsity boys playing at 5:30.

Due to possible inclement weather Friday, the Stanton High School basketball games have been moved to Thursday @ Denver City. Game times will be the same as they were with JV starting at 5:00.
