Just a reminder that there will be a junior class parent meeting tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in the SHS Commons. You can park in the back parking lot by the field house.
Topics that will be discussed are concession stand duties, prom, and project graduation for their senior year.

In accordance with law, Stanton ISD must receive written parental consent before a student is permitted to participate in a District- or campus-authorized or sponsored club. This form must be completed prior to student participation in a club. This form is good for the 2026-2027 school year and must be completed for each child that attends SISD.

The safety of our students is our highest priority. In order to ensure the well-being of every child, Stanton ISD requires that all students wear a seatbelt at all times while riding in a school vehicle. Wearing a seatbelt is not only a state law, but also a critical safety measure that protects your child in the event of an accident or sudden stop.
Failure to wear a seatbelt while on a school vehicle will result in a disciplinary write-up, as safety rules must be followed at all times.

Important Information for Our Parents & Community:
New UIL Heat Safety Requirements
The safety of our student-athletes has always been our highest priority. Beginning August 1, 2026, the UIL has implemented new Heat Stress Activity Guidelines that all member schools in our region are required to follow.
These guidelines are based on Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), which measures more than just the air temperature. It also considers humidity, sunlight, wind, and radiant heat to determine how stressful the conditions are on the human body. This is different from the heat index you see on most weather apps.
What this means is that there will be days when the outside temperature may not seem extreme, but the WBGT reading requires us to modify or even cancel outdoor activities.
What This Means for Our Athletes
Depending on the WBGT reading, our coaches may be required to:
Increase water breaks and rest periods.
Reduce the amount of protective equipment worn.
Shorten practices.
Eliminate conditioning activities.
Move practices to a different time of day.
Cancel or postpone outdoor workouts altogether.
These decisions are not optional. They are required by UIL and are designed to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Our District's Challenge:
When the guidelines require athletes to come off the field, our options limited. There may be times when practices need to end early, be rescheduled, or be canceled because we simply do not have an indoor space that can safely accommodate outdoor activities.
We know these changes may be frustrating for athletes, parents, and coaches. Please know that every decision is being made with student safety as the top priority.

These new UIL requirements represent a significant change for schools across Texas. Our coaches and staff are working hard to adjust practice plans, schedules, and activities while still providing the best experience possible for our students.
As we learn and adapt to these new standards, we ask for your patience, understanding, and support. Our coaches are not making these decisions based on personal preference they are following state-mandated safety requirements that are intended to protect every student-athlete.
We appreciate your partnership as we navigate these changes together. Our goal remains the same as always: to provide our students with a positive athletic experience while keeping them as safe as possible.
