Congratulations to these SHS Buffaloes for showing up and showing out at the Martin County Junior Livestock Show today! Kaycee Jefferson earned Senior Lamb Showman. Taven Fisher earned Senior Showman and Reserve Champion British Breed. Kylee Thetford earned Reserve Single Rabbit and Reserve Champion Meat Pen. Zoe Martel walked away with Reserve Champion Meat Pen, Nathan Alberts earned Grand Champion Single Rabbit, Emilee Day took Senior Rabbit Showman, Brayden Bryan earned Reserve Grand Medium Wool and Reserve Grand Champion Lamb! Daniel Wickler walked away with Reserve Champion Single Rabbit! What a day! Congratulations to Thayne Gernentz for being named to the Texas All-State Band!!!! This honor is only achieved through several very tough auditions. Less than 1% of high school musicians that begin this audition process at the region level go on to be named an All-State musician. He will travel to San Antonio on February 7 to rehearse with the other all-state musicians and will perform in a concert at the Lila Cockrell Auditorium on February 10 at 8:30 am in San Antonio. Congratulations to Thayne for achieving this tremendous honor and representing Stanton!

GT nominations are now open! If you are interested in nominating a student for GT assessment, you may find the information in the attached graphic helpful. We will have a GT parent meeting January 18th at 6:00 PM to share information about our program and giftedness in general and to help answer any questions you may have about nominations. We also recommend speaking with your student's teacher(s) for valuable feedback to help you make an informed decision. The window for nominations is open from Dec. 1 - Jan. 31.
